It sneaks in to our language, our interactions with loved ones, and our daily actions whether we are devout Christian or Wiccan. This form of spiritual override shields us from the truth, it disconnects us from our feelings and from each other, and helps us avoid the big picture. It is more about checking out and creating separation rather than checking in and creating communion …and often we don't even know we are doing it. It is a spiritual practice in the service of repression, usually because we are in judgment, and cannot tolerate what we or others are choosing.
