Yamas are the yogic values you can use as a guide in relationships. The first is Ahimsa: Non-harming of self and others. Where do you turn harm inward? How do you lash out or unconsciously cause harm? You’re not alone. Criticism, in my experience, doesn’t help.  What has helped me develop empathy is self compassion, therapy, and, especially, meditation.
