Have you heard of the Ten Commandments? Do you know where they came from? An ancient writing in the bible records that 3500 years ago God brought an entire nation out of slavery, and gave them commandments to follow. Many people today may not realize that these very commandments are the foundation our society was built on. Not murdering or stealing or lying, being faithful in your marriage, honouring your parents – most of us would agree on those. But there are others that are more challenging – not having any other gods or idols, not misusing God’s name, having a day of rest, not wanting what others have. Are these even relevant for us today? When it comes down to it, the commandments are really about priorities and values such as love, respect, faithfulness, selflessness, honesty and contentment – and many of these have been left behind today. I wonder, could we help to change that? We will have a fresh look at the Ten Commandments, and see how they can make a difference in us, so we can make a differen
