Sinopsis

In 2009 the recession forced Shrewsbury based Salop Design and Engineering to lay-off over half their 200 strong workforce. The family owners vowed never to be forced into such a position again by diversifying from their UK automotive component core business into powder coating, haulage and export. From a standing start in 2010 export now accounts for 10-15% of their £7 million turnover and they plan to aggressively grow through export and diversification to £10 million turnover this year. David James of UKExportAdvice.co.uk talks to Chris Greenough, Director of Salop Design and Engineering who says doing business abroad is just the same as doing business in the UK. You've just got to go out there and win it. You can find more export advice and case studies at UKExportAdvice.co.uk
