The spiritual applications of the story of Abram and Lot, his nephew, are many. After Abram's misstep in Egypt, he returns to a place of worship in Canaan. But quarreling breaks out between the people of Abram and Lot. Now we see the contrast between Abram and Lot--one in humility and peace and trust in God gives way to the one who out of pride and selfishness chooses to move close to the cities God has declared to be wicked.
