LPCG was created in 2011by (Gypsy's mom Linda Tarrant Reid), with authorization from the New Rochelle City Council and support from Department of Parks & Recreation, as a lasting commemoration of the 50-year anniversary of the Lincoln Elementary School Desegregation Case of 1961. Lush growth out of a sad, little known landmark desegregation case. Facts: Lincoln Park elementary was segregated in 1961. Small group of families and lawyer brought the case to court in the north.
