Sinopsis
It was great having Matt Peale join me for his second time on the Health in the Real World podcast. June is men's health month, which was the main topic of conversation. Some highlights of our conversation: Trainers are not indestructible humans, we need to follow protocols like everyone Progressive overload is an easy, slow, boring process, but it works We can apply it to clients of all ages We can use progressive overload to push ourselves, regardless of their age it's a trainer's job to push you to the next level, to give you confidence before you start The CDC puts out physical guidelines, CDC says 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous exercise per week. That's only 21 minutes per day (doesn't have to be continuous) Plus do 2 days per week of resistance training The heart doesn't know WHAT you're doing, it just knows it needs to beat faster, the more complex our movements are, the more your brain needs to work to stay sharp Do what you love Instead of "straight line cardio" maybe
