Movie Date Night

This month we are delving deep into popular lore and examining multiple iterations of the King Arthur legend. While we weren’t able to cover each and every film related to King Arthur, we do discuss 6 film properties including Sword in the Stone (1963), First Knight (1995), Merlin (miniseries 1998), King Arthur (2004), Merlin (BBC series 2008-2012), and King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017). As we examine these various properties, we search for the best cinematic interpretations of the key elements to this timeless saga as well as question why these stories don’t do well in the box office.
