Sinopsis

In the 5th episode of our series on Fascism and Anti-Fascism Scott and Greg begin to dig into the history of anti-fascist movements, both in Europe, as well as in the context of Western Canada.  They discuss the significance of the Spanish Civil War and how opposition to Franco's fascist movement help set the stage for contemporary anti-fascism.  They also look at how punk rock and metal scenes were microcosms of these waves of fascist resurgence, and introduced youth to opposing fascism. In the second half of the episode they interview longtime anti-fascist organizer from Calgary, Alberta, Jason Devine.  Show Notes: Advocacy in Action (Video) - Jason Devine on his 20 years of antifascist organizing.
