Proletarian Feminism is a Marxist approach to feminism that was brought forth by the Indian revolutionary Communist and writer, Anuradha Ghandy, in Philosophical Trends in the Feminist Movement. In her writing Ghandy examines the dominant variants of feminism, pulling the relevant elements and issuing critiques of what she see's as detrimental to the movement and women. What results is a feminism that sees the struggle against patriarchy as inherently linked to the struggle against capitalism, colonialism, imperialism, and racism, and transphobia.  In this episode we talk to Jayelyn and Elizabeth, two feminists and members of the Revolutionary Student Movement in Winnipeg, who recently organized a panel at the University of Winnipeg on Proletarian Feminism.  We also discuss the recent conversation surrounding the involvement of police officers at Pride.
