On Episode 3 of the podcast, we interview Rev. Janet Watrous. She is an Episcopal priest, in her fortieth year of Ordination. Janet entered into seminary at the height of the Women’s Movement of the 1970’s. She is considered to be “one of the earliest women ordained into the priesthood of our [Episcopal] church”. Janet talks about her experiences of growing up in the Church and finding her own “calling” of full-time vocational church work. Janet was in the charter class of Kirkland College in New York and graduated from The University of East Anglia, in Norwich, England. She graduated with her Master of Divinity from the Episcopal Theological School in Cambridge, MA. Janet is featured in the book, Women Priests in the Episcopal Church: The Experience of the First Decade by Mary S. Donovan. She has served in local parish churches and for twenty years as the Chaplain at St. Mary’s School in Raleigh, NC. “Live into the change” – Rev. Janet Watrous.
