Paul's famous words that Christians must "submit to the governing authorities" have often been misunderstood and misapplied. We investigate how Paul might respond to the three main objections to Romans 13: that governments come to power in all kinds of messy ways, that they very often use their power to do evil, and that Christians already serve a perfect King, so why should we add an imperfect one?
