This month’s Trad Controversies returns with a new host, James Schroepfer, to examine the old legend of Archbishop Lefebvre’s orders being doubtful because the cleric who ordained and consecrated Archbishop Lefebvre, Cardinal Lienart, is said to be a Freemason. Unfortunately, this concept of a masonic bishop’s ordinations being doubtfully valid is still a prevalent idea in our day, and with many of the traditional priests coming from Archbishop Lefebvre, some of the Catholic laity have been quite disturbed with this assertion.
