Luke 5:33-39 Passage deals with attitudes that must change. Traditions that keep us from receiving what God wants to do. Habits that are counterproductive to the ‘new’ things God wants to pour into our lives. The older we get (both in age and faith) the more difficult it is to embrace change. Churches split over music, styles, pastors…rarely over doctrine! Think about that…split over what we prefer not what we believe. Tragedy. Attitudes drive behaviors. Jesus was addressing. Insistence on tradition was preventing a ‘new’ thing. He wanted to make it very clear to them the old was incapable of containing what God was seeking to do. It’s not old versus new; it’s flexibility versus rigidity. Do we see this in scripture? Do we see this in our lives? Ask yourself this question…1 attitude I change would revolutionize my life?
