Look ahead.  G1 Romans 5:1 talks about having “peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”. If Jesus is our route to peace with God, what is our status with God outside of Jesus Christ?  Why do we need peace with God? What is peace with God?  G2 Rom 5:2-3 “And we kauchaomai (boast) in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we also “kauchaomai” (glory / boast) in our sufferings”. The same word (kauchaomai or “boast”) is used to describe how we respond to the “hope of the glory of God” and how we respond to “suffering”. How can this be?  G3 Rom 5:3-4: “suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope”. In the context of this verse, imagine a world without suffering?
