How can you tell?  David vowed to build God a “house” (a temple). God said “no” (1 Chron. 28:2) and instead built David a “house” (a dynasty, a lineage). What does this tell us about the relationship between God and David?  Kiriath Jearim (“Jaar”) is only 15km from Jerusalem. What prevented the people bringing God (the Ark of the Covenant) home?
