Once they return the conversation continues over dinner and the decision is made to attempt to implement their plan in the morning. Setting off early the investigators scour the town in search of Cyan but are unable to find her or the children. Running out of options they decide to head to ruins of the house where Iavolenus was stabbed before. At first they don’t see anything but they footsteps approaching and attempt to hide. Iavolenus and Lucius are caught in the open but Salvius manages to stay out of sight. Cyan pulls her rusty knife and raises her hand as she begins chanting.
