Salvius Horatious – Keeper Chad Iavolenus Tertius (Gladiator) – Bill Lucius Marius (Centurion) – John GM – Oscar Our investigators are in the midst of some extended downtime, relaxing and recuperating at their patron's villa Rubra. Iavolenus has taken up fishing and says to Lucius and Horatious, one afternoon, there are some street children down by the harbor that he wants to adopt. When they express misgivings about his course of action Iavolenus explains that the mother is a deranged prostitute who spends all of her money on wine, neglecting the children. Furthermore she seems to have some power, as she has been known to curse people who try to help the children which ends in misfortune for those she has cursed. Persuaded by Iavolenus, the group decides to investigate around town to see what they can learn about this mysterious mad woman. The story that unfolds is an unfortunate one. It seems that the woman, Cyan, was at a wedding with her husband in the next town over and a number of guests
