Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione: Hello, I’m Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione Aaron Emig: And I’m Aaron Emig • Season: Advent • Question: How will you spend your Advent Season? • Gospel: Matthew 3:1-12 Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione: John the Baptist makes clear that He is not the Messiah, he is not the main person of importance. Perhaps this is helpful in clarifying our own Christian identities. And understanding that we are not the main person of importance either. We need to decrease in importance, so that the proper place of Jesus in our lives may increase. John the Baptist realized that the purpose of his life was not about him at all, it was about Jesus. And there’s that same message for all of us. Our life is not about us. It’s all about knowing, loving and serving God in this world, so that we can be happy with Him forever in Heaven.
