The programme this week focused on pruning - from shrubs and hedges to ornamental and fruit trees. Pete & Mick advised on pruning in general and looked a best practice after care. The use of winter wash and grease bands was highlighted together with the overwintering of trees. For those looking to maintain colour thorugout the upcoming season a variety of options were discussed including winter violas, cyclamen and autumn foliage plants. Listeners questions included non-flowering Amaryllis, trees for a medium sized garden, introduciing worms to the garden and using manure as compost.
