As Longfellow wrote in his infamous poem Paul Revere's Ride, "One if by land, two if by sea" describing the Redcoat's travel plans from Boston to Concord, we can almost re-envision this today as a  description of  hunting and fishing in the modern world- one whitetail land, two stripers by sea.
