We're talking with Cobe Williams about violence on the streets. Cobe works as Deputy Director for the Cure Violence organization. Cure Violence was selected as one of the top 10 Non-governmental organizations by Global Journal in 2013. Cobe is worldwide - he travels the US and the Globe training “violence interrupters” in mediation and conflict resolution strategies. He provides training in 23 cities in the United States - including Chicago, New York, Baltimore, New Orleans and right here in Philadelphia. Cobe has been featured on Vice, Ted Talk X, Crime Watch Daily, and now we have him on the Sunday School Show. Cobe's work was chronicled in the 2011 award-winning film “The Interrupters” which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2011 and aired on PBS’ FRONTLINE in January, 2012 as a two-hour special. The film was selected by New Yorker magazine, Chicago Tribune, Entertainment Weekly and the LA Times as one of the best films of 2011.
