If you are a podcaster or a blogger, you may have heard of the phase "avatar for your content".  If not, perhaps you have heard of the phrase "ideal customer avatar". But what is it? A customer avatar (or a podcast avatar) is a fictional character that represents your ideal prospect. When complete, it will help you understand the motivating beliefs, fears and secret desires that influence your customer's buying decisions, or a podcast listener's decision in choosing your show.  Yes, it's true that you want to know their income, location (where they live), spending behaviors, favorite brands, website, etc. the list goes on and on and on....  What this exercise or approach doesn't tell you is that it's a process, and the avatar may change overtime.  Many creators fear this exercise not only because it's abstract in a sense, an avatar is "made-up", but also because the concern and stress behind the need to get it right the first time.  This riff is about the process, and the fact that we might not get it right t
