Saints are coming off another loss at Goodison park. Once again, the team started slowly and was on the back foot for much of the first half, and went into halftime down 2-0. Many aspects of the match were similar to those we saw last season. A slow start, Cedric left along and losing a header, an inability to control the game. But, there were also some positives as well. Saints did create some clear chances and Mark Hughes made some attacking changes, at one point going 4-2-4, with three strikers on the pitch. In all, it wasn’t a total loss. No points, but the first of what we all hope will be many Danny Ings goals this season. The loss, however, does put more pressure on Saints for the return of Claude Puel to St. Mary’s as he brings his Leicester City side, who will be without Jamie Vardy, for a Premier League clash next weekend.   I talk all of that with my guest this week, Daniel Adams.
