It is effortless to pay attention and hear from God, but it is more difficult for an average believer to take everyday actions towards God's leading. Therefore, a crucial corollary part of hearing God is a quick and total adherence to whatever God gives as an instruction. Romans 2:13 says, "For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but it is the doers of the law who will be declared righteous." So it does look somehow because the things of the spirit are different from the belief system of this world. One of the proofs of a direct walk in the will of God is sacrifice and obedience to God's voice.
