Standing Out in a Sea of Conformity! Part Five "Let no one despise or take advantage of your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, conduct, love, spirit, faith, and purity." 1 Timothy 4:12 It is important to be yourself because everyone else is already taken. I understand that there is often pressure to do something extraordinary or shocking for those who choose to stand out. From part four of "Standing Out in a Sea of Conformity," Jesus Christ showed us that standing out doesn't involve doing something grand or attention-grabbing. When Satan pressured Him to turn stones into bread, Jesus simply replied, "It is written: 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" (Matthew 4:4). Even in temptation and pressure, Jesus Christ remained true to His convictions. He knew that obeying God's Word was enough to set Him apart from the rest of the world.
