Reel Film Nerds

Welcome kiddos to the Reel Film Nerds Episode #271 not an MCU movie! Today Mike picked a remake of a Steven King novel and film Firestarter (2022) starring Zac Efron and Ryan Kiera Armstrong. Not telepathic fire related topics include beer-mosa, bullying, and Baywatch the Movie. Firestarter (2022) is a mediocre at best remake of a good thriller/horror film from 1984. The acting and chemistry between  Zac Efron and Ryan Kiera Armstrong is fantastic but that’s about all this film has going for it. The story is just awful and confusing. There are moments where what little story there is just drags. The 1984 film’s story excels in comparison to its 2022 counterpart. The CGI, stunts, and action sequences are pretty good but there just aren’t enough to keep you engaged. Mike and Matt both agree this movie is not worth watching in the theaters and maybe not at all. If you have Peacock and like Steven King then maybe it would be OK. Mike awards it 2.5 Reels out of 5. Matt with the low score again gives Firestarter (2
