We want to share our misery with someone and have them commiserate with us and forget that every stage of life has a purpose. But does complaining actually make us feel any better? According to a study published in the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, the answer is no. On the contrary, complaining only makes people more miserable. The study participants were asked to keep a journal for two weeks. Then, every day, they were asked to write about either a positive or negative event that had happened that day. The people who wrote about negative events felt worse than those who wrote about positive ones.
