The Samaritan didn't just show compassion and mercy to anyone, but to his enemy. The reactions of the priest and Levite were radically different than that of the Samaritan. Their religiosity became a roadblock to truly following God, and it can be the same today. Religion can be a roadblock to true Christianity. What motivates you to show mercy even to your perceived enemies?
