When God Speaks Exodus 3:1-4:20 When God speaks, pay attention with fear and awe. (Exodus 3:1-6) Proverbs 9:10 — The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight. Abandon any excuse that could stop you from following God. (Exodus 3:7-4:17) John 8:31-34 — 31To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” 33They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?” 34Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.” Pursue God’s call to tell others about the one who can free them, Jesus Christ. (Exodus 4:18-20)
