"When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream." Psalm 126:1 When life doesn't go as planned, it's easy to get discouraged. We may feel like God has forgotten us or that He is against us. But the truth is, He is always working for our good. In Psalm 126:1-2, we see a picture of God's actions when His people turn to Him. The Psalmist says, "When the Lord reversed the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream." In other words, when we finally surrender our lives to God and trust Him with our future, it's as if He has taken us captive and set us free simultaneously. What a beautiful picture of God's love for us! He takes our brokenness and uses it for His glory. He turns our sorrow into joy and gives us hope and a future. The turning around of which the Psalmist speaks is a change wrought by God in the lives of those who trust in him.
