The novel was such a huge hit in 1929 that they made it into a film the next year. The Netflix Original adaptation is an absolute visual feast. Not to dismiss the two other movie versions but with our current technology and the actor’s deep ties to their country and culture, this is the best visual telling of this story to date.  All Quiet on the Western Front (2022) is a must see film.
