Sinopsis

Join Laura Turner and her guest this week Rose Rhodes - Chair of the Red Crosses, South Australian Divisional Advisory Board. Rose has a pretty simple life philosophy – be happy, be healthy, enjoy every day to the fullest and never forget your roots and your culture. From humble beginnings and her childhood growing up in Malaysia as the eldest of 10 children, to arriving in Australia at the age of just 17 as a trainee nurse to 27 years in the Northern Territory and stints in disaster zones – her empathy and compassion has endeared her to her patients and colleagues alike. Since retiring from nursing she has dedicated much of her time to the Red Cross and tonight along with sharing her remarkable story is going to share some of the Red Cross’s latest finding about people’s preparedness for emergencies and their recovery experiences.
