As one of the original craft brewers, Ben has been a frequent guest on this podcast over the last 12 years. In many ways, both Bridge Road and Brews News have grown up together, shaped by the ever changing industry in which we operate. When I am asked which breweries in Australia really exemplify the craft beer or indie ethos, Ben and Bridge Road are always in that list. Which is why it’s interesting to watch the way that Bridge Road has grown and evolved over its life and in this chat we look at some of the recent initiatives that the business has undertaken - no alc beers brewed in house, a Melbourne-based venue, an employee share scheme. We also talk about some of the perennial favourites…transparency, labelling, provenance and the importance of independence.
