This week we catch up with Dave Phillips, as he was announced as Chief Operating Officer at Shipyard Brewing in Portland, Maine. It was an interesting announcement, given to the Australian industry, Dave is best known for his tourism roles here. We have spoken with Dave before, both in his role as founder of Dave’s Brewery Tours which became Dave’s Travel and Events, and also as the eventual owner of Sydney Beer Week. It turns out that Dave has invested in similar tourism and travel businesses across the US, in addition to his role at Shipyard, and we have a great chat about business models in the beer industry as the market matures and what he has learned about business watching the industry change.
