Relating Moses's Law To Christians (Theology for the Church)
25/03/2024 Duración: 01h28minDr. DeRouchie recently appeared on the Theology for the Church podcast. The full episode description is below. In this episode, Caleb is joined by Jason DeRouchie (PhD, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary) Professor of Old Testament and Biblical Theology at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary to discuss a progressive covenantalist perspective on how Christians are to apply the law of Moses today. Together, they discuss questions like: should we view OT law as a unit/single entity or adopt the traditional tripartite division of the law? What laws apply to Christians today and in what ways? How do we read OT law through the lens of Christ's fulfillment of it? How do we interpret individual laws and apply them in the teaching and preaching ministries of the church.

Interpreting OT Wisdom
21/01/2022 Duración: 02h04minI originally gave this presentation to college students. In it, I overview the concepts and literature pertinent to wisdom in the OT. To this end, I consider wisdom's foundational principles, definition, and types and formats. I then provide different examples of interpreting wisdom literature by considering a dialogue (Job 1-2), a couple of monologues (Eccl 3:9-14; 11:7-12:1), and various proverbs. The end result of rightly studying wisdom in the OT is to fear God and treasure Christ more.
