The guys break down some of the Bryan Woo conversation and how it relates to his future and what the Mariners should do in order to stretch him out if the MRI results come back positive. The scratch of Mariners starting pitcher Bryan Woo doesn't raise huge alarm bells for Salk, but the concern is still very real and strong for M's fans. A player not named Cal Raleigh deserves a huge amount of credit for yesterday's win over the White Sox and what do the guys make of DK Metcalf's comments at OTAs? Brock's Blue 88. 

The Mariners win again in late-innings and Salk declares he was never worried since that White Sox bullpen is atrocious but the bad news is Bryan Woo's scratch and the impending MRI results. We hear from Coach Macdonald and DK Metcalf's minicamp pressers before we revisit the conversation w/ ESPN's Jeff Passan. 

We got a firsthand look at the damage Luis Robert can do at the plate last night. We discuss some of the pros and cons of going for him and a trade proposal from the Seattle Times Adam Jude. Then, we react to Rebecca Lobo's explanation for why Caitlin Clark is not on the Olympic team and discuss why the M's are so good late in games. The Jay Buhner conversation ran late, pushing Brock's Blue 88 into the next hour and covering a potential QB conversation for the Seahawks and mandatory mini-camp headlines. Jeff Passan joins the guys for his weekly segment to discuss Luis Robert Jr and who (and why) he sees as untouchable trade pieces for the Mariners this year. 

Salk asks Brock the same question his young daughter asked last night: “why are baseball games so stressful?” Why did they win that game? Why do they look so different late in games? Former Mariner and friend of the show Jay Buhner joins the guys to share what  he remembers from the first Buzz Cut night, what he makes of this team, Julio compared to Junior and so much more. 

Just like the M's drew it up, right? Blanked for 7 innings only to finish with a walk-off grand slam from Cal Raleigh, but Salk runs down a list of names who could have been the hero between Haniger, Raley, Stanek, or even Servais? Salk spends some time on the Luis Robert Jr. trade potential.

How do the Mariners get their offense from subpar to par? Then, we spend some time discussing the Mariners Buhner Buzz Cut Night and which Mariners could potentially shave their head. What do we make of this new, reshaped roster? They scored 19 runs this weekend and 46 runs in the nine games since firing Brant Brown, good for 5.1 per game, but how meaningful is that? Scott Servais is one of the best managers in baseball and has been a criminally underrated manager because he is 227-172 in one-run encounters. Gee Scott joins Salk for his weekly appearance and the guys spend more than 20 minutes discussing Socks and Friendship.

Bryan Woo is such an outlier in so many ways that it’s really hard to get a grip on who he is and what he is capable of and Salk thinks he is the secret weapon - not the pitcher he trusts the most - but someone who could be. Ray Roberts (in for Brock) joins for Blue 88 and shares some of what he saw at Seahawks practice. 

Bryan Woo shuts down the Oakland Athletics and high praise is deserved - but how is it happening and does Scott Servais also deserve some credit? Today was the deadline that Salk set for himself to decide what he thinks of the Mariners offense and he has declared them....subpar. However, ti shouldn't be that hard to improve. We discuss how they go about it. Then, Justin and Salk have another edition of Ranked for you.

It wasn't a great day in Oakland for the Mariners who played sloppy and were unable to muster more than 1 run in the 9th inning vs a bad Oakland team and Salk has questions about how the game was managed.
