Last night I was talking with a fantastic person who want to write a book. Her fear is that other people will not see her as an expert. Russell Brunson says, "My results are my credentials." You don't have to be an expert. you just need to have real life experience and a passion. What are you waiting to do that you're not doing because you don't have the credentials or the expertise? Stop waiting. Take action now.

The other day, a friend posted this question on Facebook. Would you rather be a jack of all trades or a master of one? It's really important to have one purpose and one focus. I meet people all the time who are surprised when God's favor or blessing shows up. But why not you? Why does it always have to happen to someone else? This kind of thinking trains your brain to expect that good things are going to happen.

We're told from a very young age to play nice. Enough with being nice. Nice doesn't create transformation. Last night I was on a call with future authors. There was a gentlemen who took the position of a critic. He was not teachable. Eventually I asked him what he was afraid of. He paused and told us that he was afraid of not being in control. I just got off the phone with a friend I haven't spoken to in five years. I am so glad we connected. If you have a nudge like that, do it.

The words you use matter. I've been reading a book recently about stoic thinking. We often say things with hyperbole and emotion and set unrealistic expectations for ourselves. We don't have to necessarily deny ourselves, but just because we feel something doesn't mean we have to act on it.

In the sales process, have you ever had to defend yourself? When i get to that point, I usually back off because I don't like the energy. Sometimes I even confront it. I love the fact that you're odd. I recently watched a movie with my kids about real life superdogs that save people. Behind those super dogs are super people who train them. It takes patience. These people are odd. If you've been told you're odd, embrace it. Let your oddity be your superpower. 

Have you ever heard the statement, "Don't waste your breath." I recently got into a conversation with someone who is uncoachable. Immediately they became defensive. No wonder they're stuck. Sometimes it's better to be a good example for everybody. It's not your job to be be responsible for everybody — only to them. 

Recently one of our authors posted how difficult it is to finish her book. She wasn't complaining, but instead asking for help. When people take off the mask they actually begin to build their own tribe because people can began to relate to them. Stop pretending. Be Real. Be authentic. That's the moment of your ultimate transformation.

If we're not careful, we accept the cliches about growing older. More and more people are living longer. I just talked to a 75 year old who feels more alive and is more in shape than ever. Growing up in a church, we sang the song Sweet Hour of Prayer. In our day and age, we'd have to change the lyrics to sweet second of prayer. We as a society don't take a lot of time for reflection and prayer. What if you took a break in your day — even five minutes to take a breath, exercise or be in nature.
