Sermon Notes: Sabbath is a weekly 24-hour period we choose to set apart to cease from our regular routine so we can intentionally engage with God, ourselves, and those important to us. Psalm 46:10A 1 Kings 19:1-14 Genesis 3:8-9 Implications: Contemplation during Sabbath deepens our relationships with God, ourselves, and those close to us. Often we avoid quiet contemplation because we are afraid of what we will find hiding in our own heart. When we choose contemplation though, we can experience God’s grace and we find His ways to move forward. Your Next Steps: Have a discipleship conversation: what seems to be getting in the way of you hearing the still small voice of God? Experiment with adding one way of contemplation to your next Sabbath.
