Oh how I've missed you!  The unexpected turn of events this year meant that my "I'll just take a little break" turned into a full on break. But I haven't been lazing around. Oh no. I've been doing Instalives, Facebook lives and Zoom calls (like the rest of the world) but with fabulous guests who my stylist, writer and assistant friends can learn from.  The first few episodes will be the audio recordings from those calls.  The first one is up next week and is with Margaret Haig who works at the Intellectual Property Office and told the members of Inside Stylists what is and isn't allowed when it comes to copyright and photoshoots.  Keep an eye out for that one which is launching next week.  See you then EmmaMT    You can find previous episodes RIGHT HERE     

If I had to give you a hint for who today’s guest is I would give the clues ‘Purple, French, fabulous” and I think that gives the game away. He’s been an interior stylist, set designer and prop stylist for many years. He’s worked with a ton of mainstream brands including Le Creuset, Ikea, Wayfair, Waitrose, Hotel Chocolate, Jack Daniels, Clarins, Jo Malone and soooo many more! Last month I made a mistake and I felt I should have known better. It doesn't happen often but if someone had told me how to handle that situation from the moment I went freelance then I might have made a better choice. When it comes to pattern, florals and a generally bright and happy outlook on interiors you don’t get much more colourful and uplifting than today’s guest. You’ll know her from the tv program Interior Design Masters where she showed us how having your own style, sticking to your true vibe and basically bringing the sunshine to any room-  makes you an interiors inspiration. As well as running her interiors studio she now has an on line course teaching how to get her look and confidently mix colour and pattern in your own home - something she’s an expert on. I've been part of many accountability programs. Some worked well. Some not so much, but they all moved me forwards with my goals in some way or another. Today’s guest is a freelance journalist, presenter and producer of the indoor gardening podcast On The Ledge She has a 20 year background in news journalism,  and has worked for publications including The Guardian, the Financial Times, Gardens Illustrated, Grow Your Own magazine and The English Garden. But, today we aren’t going to be talking about her very green fingers as my guest is an expert on how freelancers can pitch feature ideas to editors. She knows how to wow editors with polished pitches, and can clear up the question of who to email, what to say, and moreover what to do when you don’t get an answer?
