Exit 47 Comedy Get Down is back and bringing bigger laughs to Newnan.The second annual benefit show will be hosted by Newnan's very own Sevonta, who starred on the TV network Nickelodeon. All the proceeds go to Hope Global Initiative Newnan, a community dedicated to inspiring, equipping and empowering underserved families to develop the solutions they need for the challenges they face.Empowered 4 Life, Newnan Police Department and Newnan Kiwanis Club sponsored the event this year.

Coach Mark Bowles joins Derrick and David to talk about both baseball and softball programs at East Coweta High School. He currently oversees the Indians' baseball pitching and catching programs, and also serves as the Assistant Varsity Softball Coach.Coach Bowles has been awarded the Region Assistant Coach of The Year for 2008, 2013 and 2017 in Baseball.  He has been awarded the Region Assistant Coach of The Year for softball in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2020.  Coach Bowles has also been recognized as the State Assistant Coach of The Year by the Georgia Dugout Club (2017, 2020) and the GACA (2017, 2018, 2020).

Through the development of programs like Student-Vet Connect, the History Speaker Series, and the Student-Vet Connect 5K, which has raised more than $50,000 to help with local veterans’ needs, the pair have ensured students get the best history experience possible. 

Lifelong Newnan native Joe Powell recently completed his first book of memoirs, but they're not about himself. In "Famous and Infamous Characters of Newnan," Powell has compiled his stories of people in his life over the years, including Emory Holland who joins Powell on the cover of the book and in the podcast.

Brooke Baker, director of Newnan Emergency Shelter Team (NEST), joins Jacqui and Joy to talk about NEST and what it provides for those seeking shelter during the cold months ahead. NEST is located at Newnan City Church at 17 First Ave. For about four years, the shelter has been supported by donations and volunteers through the church, Baker said. But this year, for the first time, other churches in town have taken on assigned days to provide volunteers and meals, she said.
