Every wonder how the Recording Industry Association of America actually get's their sales numbers from streaming and downloading? Well I did, so I did a little research. Dorothy Martin, leader of the band Dorothy, joined us in studio to have a proper chat about her, her band, her music, her manager and the greatest impersonation of college chicks by a tour manager ever...ever!

Asking Alexandria only did the 2018 edition fo the Warped Tour for a week. Like many bands they owe a lot of their success to the annual touring festival that is on it's last run ever. I caught up with guitarist Ben Bruce to talk about their legacy with The Warped Tour, the return of original lead singer Danny Worsnop, the new album and more. With the sounds of other bands and tour busses in the background here is the conversation we shared while sitting on lawn chairs outside of the Asking Alexandria tour bus.

Since 1995 The Van's Warped Tour has been for many an annual summer music adventure. From seeing no name punk bands to the biggest artists in the world kicking ass all day, outside in the heat, The Warped Tour has been an institution all it's own. Kaytie and I relive some stories from our own experiences over the years and name some bands that we discovered there for the first time. So long Van's Warped Tour, we'll miss you more than you might know.

Last week backstage at Rock USA in Oshkosh, WI Kaytie and I had a little fun with our old friends, Brent Smith and Zach Myers of Shinedown. Kaytie ate donuts, we made sex jokes and of course talked about Shinedown. What Shinedown means to rock, what Shinedown means to this festival, 10 years of Sound of Madness, their new album Attention, Attention and more.

Earlier in the week I got a phone call that said something to the effect of "Caleb needs to play you the new Beartooth this weekend at Rock USA." I'm like "suuuuuure he does" Well it turns out instead we had a long conversation about the making of the new Beartooth album which is due out later this year. Kaytie and I are hosting another Rock USA at Ford Festival Park in Oshkosh, WI. This one is special because we get to have conversations with some of our favorite bands and musicians in front of an audience at a giant rock festival. Even if that means sometimes the audio gets a little crappy. June is Pride month and after experiencing my first Pride festival, Kaytie and I got to talking about being open, about being who we are as individuals, (after some poop talk of course, it's us what did you expect?) At the end of the day it is just about being good humans. After having this discussion we left some people out of the conversation who are out as gay or bisexual in the world of rock, Plus of course trans-gendered rock stars like Laura Jane Grace or Mina Caputo. 20 years ago Godsmack released their multi-platinum self titled debut and they haven't looked back. This year when the time was right to celebrate their anniversary? They released a new album instead. When Legends Rise see's the band take some chances and try some new things, Seemingly it's paying off. They are about to kick off an co-headlining tour with Shinedown and the song "Bulletproof" gives Godsmack their 9th number one rock song. Time to catch up with Godsmack singer and front-man Sully Erna.

Day two of Northern Invasion actually begun with Ryan and Mike from Red Sun Rising. Their second album is called 'Thread' is now out. From opening to headlining they are living their own successes.
