    07/11/2017 Duración: 18min

The title might be a bit misleading, but after this conversation with Joe Duplantier (singer/guitarist) of Gojira that's kind of what it felt like. This is two guys talking about writing, talking about metal and talking about being dads.

  • Rockcast at Aftershock - Jeremy Spencer of Five Finger Death Punch

    27/10/2017 Duración: 06min

Sure we had this conversation while at Aftershock before Five Finger Death Punch's performance on day 2, but I had to save it until today. Why? Cause I promised. There is a new Death Punch song out today called "Trouble." It's on the new greatest hits album 'Decade of Destruction' due out December 1st. Jeremy and I quickly caught up on the new song and what it means to have a greatest hits record. Plus why it's nice to be looking to the future instead of worrying about a lawsuit.

  • Rockcast at Aftershock - Butcher Babies

    23/10/2017 Duración: 25min

I have always had a respect for The Butcher Babies in just how they have become a popular band. They haven't had a radio hit or that one song that everyone knows but in the process of their 10 year career they have amassed a giant, passionate following. With a new album around the corner, 'Lillith' due out Oct. 27th, it was time to have a long conversation about how and about their new music. This is a band that you must see live.

  • Rockcast at Aftershock - Beartooth's Caleb Shomo

    23/10/2017 Duración: 07min

From playing the side stages two years ago to playing the main stage in the middle of the day it's been a pretty crazy ride for the band Beartooth. Caleb and I caught up and found out what's next in the way of new music for Beartooth.

  • Rockcast at Aftershock - Chris Jericho

    22/10/2017 Duración: 07min

Yes he's a giant superstar, yes he's a legendary wrestler from the WWE, yes he's a household name, but at the end of the day he's a rocker like the rest of us. Chris Jericho has become one of my favorite people in rock and couldn't be happier for his band Fozzy having a top 10 rock song and a top 10 album both named "Judas"

  • Rockcast at Aftershock - Nothing More

    22/10/2017 Duración: 09min

I've talked to Jonny Hawkins from Nothing More so many times that it was nice to catch up with the bands guitarist and bassist, Mark and Dan. Hearing about 'The Stories We Tell Ourselves' from their perspective is pretty cool. Remember the background noise is very noticeable as this conversation took place in the media tent at Aftershock.

  • Rockcast at Aftershock - Billy Howerdel of A Perfect Circle

    22/10/2017 Duración: 08min

Continuing the day one Aftershock adventure I was able to catch up with one of my favorite musicians, Billy Howerdel from A Perfect Circle. This show kicks off their North American tour and now that we have new music in the song "The Doomed" it was high time to catch up.

  • Rockcast at Aftershock - Roy from Stone Sour with Guests

    21/10/2017 Duración: 09min

I'm hanging at The Aftershock music festival in Sacramento, CA all weekend seeing live music and talking with rock n' roll friends. When it comes to Stone Sour you never know what will happen when you get into their trailer. I knew I was sitting down to talk to Roy Mayorga, but Corey Taylor and Josh Rand just couldn't help themselves.

  • Rockcast 40 - Fall of 91

    18/10/2017 Duración: 42min

Some of the greatest rock albums to ever be released came out in the later part of 1991. Scratch that, some of the greatest albums period came out in '91. Metallica, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Ozzy, Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Guns n' Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers and more all released career defining albums between the middle of August and the end of September. 1991 has gone down as one of, if not the greatest year in music history. Kaytie and I give our thoughts and go into details on some of these landmark records. Cutter: @cuttermediaKaytie: @ktrgrocks

Sam Kiszka is the bassist for the band Greta Van Fleet out of Frankenmuth, MI. (Frankenmuth is also known as Christmas town,) Sam formed the band along with his brothers Josh and Jake. There are only teenagers fresh out of high school and yet their song "Highway Tune" spent most of the month of September on top of the rock charts. • Rockcast 37 - Johnny Christ of Avenged Sevenfold

    06/10/2017 Duración: 17min

Kaytie and I needed to catch up with Avenged Sevenfold ahead of tickets going on sale for The Stage World Tour. Enter bassist Johnny Christ. The tour which also features Breaking Benjamin and Bullet For My Valentine is hitting arenas all over the U.S. starting in early January. There's also a little court case going on that we had to ask about. Plus they just put out an amazing version of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" for the deluxe edition of The Stage. Yeah a lot to cover. This aired live (besides our little introduction,) on our home base radio station Razor 94.7 so we give it to you the way it was heard, with some bonus content about "Wish You Were Here." • Rockcast 35 - Dustin Bates from Starset author of The Prox

    04/10/2017 Duración: 17min

This interview originally took place live on Facebook, because apparently that's what us media people do now. We talked on Starset's tour bus outside of a venue before they went on to play two giant rock festivals in the same weekend, Louder Than Life and Sonic Boom. Starset's new album 'Vessels' has been doing extremely well and the second single "Satellite" is currently skyrocketing up the rock radio charts. On top of that Dustin and the Starset Society (which Dustin explains during this interview) just put out the new Marvel published graphic novel 'The Prox: Transmissions.' Dustin gives a walk through and there's some Starset talk as well, on the latest episode of the Rockcast. Follow those involved:Cutter: @cuttermediaDustin Bates: @dustieboots Starset: @starsetsociety

  • Rockcast 34 - Behind the Rock Show

    27/09/2017 Duración: 35min

We had such an amazing response to our last (host) podcast about booking shows that we had to do a follow up. This time Kaytie and I are going through the day of the big rock shows and what's really going on behind the scenes. We do our best to answer some questions we've received and explain why you should quit your bitching with technical problems, or severe weather happen. Any comments or concerns as always you can reach out to us directly.Cutter = @cuttermediaKaytie = @ktrgrocks

  • Rockcast 33 - Live from Razor Edgefest

    23/09/2017 Duración: 40min

From the shadow of Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI I did a live radio show ahead of the annual Razor Edgefest concert. My home radio station Razor 94.7 (WZOR) every year puts on a smaller outdoor show in the parking lot of the Green Bay Distillery. Just so happens that it's directly across the street from the Green Bay Packers practice facility and kitty corner from Lambeau Field. The line-up this year was Black Stone Cherry, 10 Years, Gemini Syndrome and Through Fire. I talked to all the bands live on the air from the patio of the venue. It was a great day and so much fun catching up with new and old friends. This episode of the Rockcast is my conversations with all 4 bands, as they happened. Enjoy!

  • Rockcast 32 - Basics of Booking

    20/09/2017 Duración: 38min

Over the last few months we've been asked the question on how concert booking works. We have also seen all the negative comments about someone's favorite band playing on a week night, or tickets being to expensive, or the ending to early, or not liking the headliner of a major festival, or whatever other excuse you can come up with. Well a lot goes into booking a tour or even just a one off show. The agents, the promoters, the venues, sometimes the radio stations, and yes even the bands have to put a lot of work into setting these shows or tours up. Kaytie and I dig deeper and discuss the ins and outs of how this works. You're welcome.

  • Rockcast 31 - Jonny Hawkins of Nothing More

    18/09/2017 Duración: 08min

Kaytie and I had a real quick conversation with the lead singer of Nothing More, Jonny Hawkins. Their second album 'The Stories We Tell Ourselves' came out last Friday and after being able to spend a lot of time with it, we needed to geek out on it. This won't take long for you to listen to, so enjoy our conversation about one of the best newer bands on the block, Nothing More.

  • Rockcast 30 - Tim Commerford from Prophets of Rage

    12/09/2017 Duración: 11min

He is the outspoken bassist who is most well known for his work in Rage Against the Machine. There was of course those 3 albums with Chris Cornell as the front-man for the band Audioslave. Now Tim along with his RATM/Audioslave bandmates, guitarist Tom Morello & drummer Brad Wilk, are back with Prophets of Rage. Now on the mic though are B-Real from Cypress Hill and Chuck D from Public Enemy. Tim and I caught up ahead of the debut Prophets of Rage full length album coming out this Friday.

  • Rockcast 29 - Wayland live and unplugged

    06/09/2017 Duración: 20min

The band Wayland have actually been kicking it in the rock n' roll scene for a some time now. After releasing a couple EP's and touring non-stop they have finally announced a full length album called 'Rinse and Repeat' due out on Sept. 22nd. They also have a new drummer in Nigel Dupree (yes he is the son of Jackyl wild man Jesse James Dupree) Ahead of them playing the annual Harley-Davidson Rally in Milwaukee, WI I had them stop by the studio to say hi and they brought their guitars. A little conversation, a little music all before a few drinks later on that day. It's Wayland Unplugged on the Rockcast.
