In battle, helmets are crucial for survival AND success. So it is with our spiritual battle against evil. As we'll learn, we need the Helmet of Salvation to protect our minds from Satan's attacks. As we continue on in our series through Ephesians 6 on spiritual warfare, we come to the "Shield of Faith". Pastor Mel Walker will show us why having a shield or protection is crucial for spiritual defense and success. The devil wants us distracted beings and he has many fiery darts he will shoot at us. We discuss how important it is to be girded with the Breastplate of Righteousness and to be made ready by the Gospel of Peace. Last week we learned that ALL Christ followers are in a battle against the spiritual forces of evil, and we learned how important it is to be strengthened with the power of our Lord. This week we will be exhorted to STAND FIRM against the attacks of the devil and even begin learning what pieces of spiritual Armor are available for us in this fight. We begin a new sermon mini-series in the book of Ephesians as we come to one of the most famous chapters and passages in all of Scripture - Ephesians 6, "The Armor of God". We begin by studying our opponent and discussing why we need divine strength in order to stand against the devil's schemes. We are in desperate need of God's help in this battle and we hope every one of you are motivated to not only fight this battle, but win this battle in the strength of the Lord. Many blessings!

We believe the entire Christian life is "A God Thing" and nothing teaches us that better than the practical instructions found in the beginning of Ephesians 6. Perhaps though we're focusing upon the wrong kinds of gifts this year and we need to have our perspective changed to see what we really need and want. When our God created the world, the first thing He created was Light. It was the very same when He first brought Life into our souls. He came with Light and chased the darkness away. In this lesson, we'll discuss why we must now live in the Light if we've been born of God and our truest desire is to please and imitate our God. As we'll discover once again, it's all about Jesus. As Christians, we have the awesome privilege AND responsibility to imitate our God and Father as His beloved children. This imitation process takes work and motivation, but it's God's specific will for our lives. The Lord Jesus gave His life for us so that we might be new spiritual creations. Jesus also spent His entire life on earth teaching and training us how to live. Now the Apostle Paul is going to exhort us to live new based on our new nature and based on the truths Jesus gave us. And in order to live new, something bad and old needs to go away first. We will discuss what these new practices look like in life of the redeemed soul. This is the first part of a two-part lesson. We hope this blesses you!

In Ephesians 4, the Apostle Paul has described to us our calling that we have received from God. And now he wants to encourage to live out that calling together in both unity and diversity for the sake of loving the Lord and loving others. We will discuss why it's so crucial to work together in the Christian life so that we can ALL reach the summit of living out our callings from God. Every single member of Christ's Church is crucial to this success. We hope this blesses you!

Every Christian has received a calling from God. There are specific callings as well, but the general calling for all Christians is something we must understand and must be motivated to live for because it's the reason we have Eternal Life. The Apostle Paul is going to instruct us on how to live out our calling, but the motivation must come from within - for all Christ has done for us. What would be the best prayer request you could ever pray for someone? Well, the Apostle Paul is basically going to define his best prayer request for the Ephesian church and we get to glance at this request and also get to consider how we're a part of the blessings Paul is praying for. God had a mystery hidden for generations that He was specially waiting to reveal to His church. This mystery was focused on a group of people that we once neglected.
