#56: Child's Play & Adult Stories
10/03/2020 Duración: 27minOf all the jobs I have, one of my most favourite is that of being an aunt. To a few very special humans, I am 'Tante Amy' - and I love it! Being an aunt has been such a fun adventure! I get to watch little ones grow and learn and practice navigating the world - without the stretch marks, sleepless nights and overtaken schedule. || When I get to hang out with the pumpkins, I love observing them move through the world. Recently, I had the opportunity to go watch my niece in her gymnastics class. As her group moved around the room doing different exercises on different equipment, it was neat to watch these littles practice. || I was especially fascinated when they moved to the balance beams. On today's podcast, I share with you why I was so fascinated and how my observation of these littles got me thinking about us as adults and how we move through the world. || Special note: today's episode has been recorded in a car as I'm on the move this week and that was the only 'quiet' space I had available.

#55: 20 Minutes
03/03/2020 Duración: 30minI recently revamped my morning schedule (routine?). I knew as I was figuring out how to work in what I wanted to do in the morning that I needed to make sure it was both a sustainable plan (meaning I could do this somewhat indefinitely - ie. not burnout) and that it was effective. || I also knew that I wanted to be in my office by 9am. How to do everything I was thinking of and do it pre-9am? || Today I'm talking about the power of 20 minutes. I'll share how I worked in the two main things I wanted to accomplish and how I was able to use the power of 20 minutes to ensure I was both effective and did not create a situation of overwhelm. || Thanks for listening today! #54: Leaning in to Discomfort
25/02/2020 Duración: 32minLet's be honest - nobody really wants to lean into discomfort. It's ludicrous. Millions of years of biological programming tells us its life threatening to lean into discomfort. So why do it? || I'm sure you've seen the quote, 'Everything you want is on the other side of fear'. How do you move through fear to get these fabled things? By leaning into discomfort. || You can create phenomenal change and upleveling in your life if you're willing to lean in. So on today's podcast, I'm sharing how I'm leaning into discomfort and of course, giving you some insights on why it's so good for us to do so.

#45: Managing Expectations of Yourself
03/12/2019 Duración: 50minIn business, one of your main responsibilities is managing the expectations of your clients. Doing so well means that for the most part, you business runs smoothly, your clients are relatively happy and you don't feel stressed all the time.Today let's talk about how well you are managing the expectations ... of yourself.I came head to head with unrealistic expectations I had for myself a few weeks ago. Whenever we try something new or move into a new role, we always go at it with some kind of expectation of ourselves. When I first went ziplining, I expected to love it! Then when I stood on the platform with nothing but open air before me, I was terrified. It took a few zips before I felt mostly confident about jumping off the platform - not entirely what I expected. When I was learning to ski in the mountains, I knew it would take time but my expectations of myself became unrealistic as I'd watch my guy rip down the hill with ease and I'd wonder why I was still so slow. A gentle reminder that he'd been on

#44: A Brief Encounter with an Air Traffic Controller
26/11/2019 Duración: 27minOne of the careers I briefly flirted with was that of an Air Traffic Controller. I've always been fascinated by airplanes, airports are one of my favourite places and I thought to be part of that as a controller would be really cool.So imagine my excitement when a ride up the ski hill on the chair lift had me sitting with a recently retired air traffic controller! Our conversation was much too short for my liking but I did have the opportunity to ask a few quick questions. And the answer to one of my questions got me thinking...... about making mistakes.Mistakes are part of life, they're part of what makes us human and trying to avoid them at all costs is simply not possible. But what if making mistakes is actually good for you and for your business? What might you be missing out on if you never ever made mistakes? That's what we're talking about today friends. So grab a coffee, and let's get cozy.

#42: Keep It Simple - Thighmaster Thoughts...
12/11/2019 Duración: 26minPodcast inspiration can strike anywhere. This week, it came while I was on the rowing machine, for some reason thinking about the thighmaster (remember that thing?).I realized that I was well on my way to creating a much more complicated exercise plan in my mind - one that would surely set me up for failure. And with blazing clarity, I could see this was a pattern I was well-used to repeating. Start simple, layer on, create complication, fail because I've overcommitted. // So on today's episode, I'm talking about how I'm practicing simplicity in my life and how the commitment to my 40 hour job is giving me a wonderful opportunity to do so. // If you're really good at layering on the work, or if you're drowning in the "to-dos" you have every day, this is for you. // If you haven't already, please leave a review on Apple Podcasts OR share out this episode on social! Be sure to tag me @idaretobegin.

#41: How I Released My Gym Membership - And Received a Home Gym For $35
05/11/2019 Duración: 39minWhat does my gym membership have anything to do with starting a biz? And how the heck did I 'receive' a home gym for $35?If you've been following the podcast for a while you know I've been on a journey this year to heal/improve/build a healthier relationship with money. One part of that has been releasing costs that were 'unnecessary'.Some costs were easy - monthly subscriptions for things like Canva for example - but others, like my gym membership, took me some time to come around on.Today I share a bit of the journey, how I am viewing 'debt' now, and the actual story of releasing the membership and receiving three amazing pieces of exercise equipment. Also, I talk about Manifestation Babe's podcast episode #62: Manifest Your Way Out of Debt, be sure to go have a listen!

#40: I Am vs I Feel - A Powerful Distinction
29/10/2019 Duración: 20minHow often do you say something like this: 'I am sad.' 'I am disappointed.' 'I am frustrated.' Seems like a simple statement of how you feel at that moment right? What if, by stating your feelings like that, you're creating more of that feeling? What if by saying, 'I am frustrated', you're calling more frustration into your life? Rather than call more crap into your life, let's talk about how you can honestly express your feelings (not just the happy-happy-rainbows-are-coming-out-of-my-butt crap) and still create positive momentum. // If you haven't yet, please leave a review on Apple Podcasts. Also, share a screenshot of this episode on the 'gram and be sure to tag me @idaretobegin. Thank you so much for listening!!!
