This week is packed! We talk A Quiet Place: Day One, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, The Boys, Federer: The Last Twelve Days, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, The Acolyte, and My Policeman. The show kicks off with Laurens rave review of A Quiet Place: Day One. It's not just "more of the same" which makes it exciting. Lupita Nyong'o and Joesph Quinn do a great job, and then there's that damn cat... Next up, Kevin talks about Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. This one actually IS "more of the same" but in the best way possible. Will it win any awards? No. But if you are a fan of the original film, this one hits all the right notes. This week we cover Sheri Papini: The Perfect Wife, White Lotus, house of the Dragon, The Bikeriders, Trigger Warning, and Cirque du Soleil's Ovo. It's just Kevin and Lauren this week and Kevin kicks it of by being our Dateline dream girl, watching the new Hulu documentary, Sheri Papini: The Perfect Wife. It's an absolutely insane take of the disappearance and reappearance of Sheri Papini back in 2016. It's a real life Gone Girl story and it's a wild ride. After that bit of insanity, Lauren takes us on vacation with White Lotus on HBO. She binged both seasons this last week and was completely transfixed. Kevin has already seen it so it's a good back and forth discussion. Next up, Kevin gives a very brief review of the first episode of the new season of House of the Dragon. It's an admittedly light review, but the episode was pretty light until the completely crazy ending which really turned it around. Its just Kevin and Lauren this week and they discuss Moulin Rouge (The Musical), Only Murders in the Building, The Iron Claw, Civil War, The Boys, and Ezra. Since last episode started off a hair dour, this one kicks off on Broadway with Lauren discussing the stage version of Moulin Rouge. She's not quite as taken with it as Kevin is with the original film, but it's a spectacle, if nothing else. Keeping it light for a little longer, Kevin discusses the Hulu original, Only Murders in the Building. He's only about 1/3 of the way through the entire series, but the Steve Martin/Martin Short/Selena Gomez joint is a fantastic and fun umrder mystery series. The show then takes a turn to the more serious with The Iron Claw. It's an emotional story of a family of professional wrestlers in the early 80's. The film features fantastic performances from Zach Effron, Jeremy Allen White, and Lily James. It's not the happiest of tales, but definitely worth all of the buzz it got. This week we are covering Quiet on Set, Hit Man, The Acolyte, Under Paris, and more! Andrew is late to the party so the episode kicks off with Lauren talking about the Netflix docuseries about the early days of Nickelodeon, Quiet on Set. It's a deep dive into the problematic man behind some of the early Nickelodeon afternoon shows for teens. It also goes into the very sad story of Drake Bell and the abuse he suffered as higher ups looked the other way. To lighten the mood, and with Andrew on board, Kevin discusses the shark thriller, Under Paris. It's a French Jaws wannabe with a lot of issues. Mainly, science not mattering... As far as shark films go, though, it's at least entertaining, though you often find yourself wondering just what people are thinking in the most basic of situations. We also discover that the Seine is full of explosives (that's actually true...) so that's neat! This week we cover Godzilla Minus One, Back to Black, Castlevania, Evil, Mystere, Hacks, and Last Vegas. Andrew and Lauren are both in the house with Kevin this week and they have a lot of ground to cover. You know who else covers a lot of ground? Godzilla!! The big guy suddenly dropped on Netflix this week and Kevin jumped at the chance to watch it with his kids. Andrew had already seen it, but that doesn't mean a rehash is a bad thing... This movie rocks, so go watch it ASAP. Next up, Lauren talks about the new Amy Winehouse biopic, Back to Black. it got pretty rough reviews from the critics but audiences seem to like it a lot more, and so did Lauren. There is a lot of interesting story to be told, especially for those of us who didn't follow Amy in the tabloids. Andrew takes us to anime land with the Netflix series' Castlevania and Castlevania Nocturne. The original series is pretty fantastic. The newer series, Nocturne, didn't come in as hot as the original, but ends on a high note that left Andrew saliva

It's a quick one this week, with Kevin focusing primarily on Atlas and Jurassic World Chaos Theory, both on Netflix. Kevin takes a pretty deep dive into Atlas this week. The film stars Jennifer Lopez and Simu Liu. It's your typical AI wants to kill everyone kind of film, but it is a solid action flick. Atypical of his usual bad attitude, Kevin doesnt hate this one. It's not what I'd call a GOOD film, but it is entertaining. The true star, funny enough, is the AI, Smith. After that deep dive, Kevin gives a quick run through of Jurassic World Chaos Theory, the follow up to Camp Cretaceous. It's an animated series in the Jurassic universe, but it's a more mature take than the previous (still excellent) series. And... That's it! Andrew is back and it's catch up time! Kevin talks Bodkin and Andrew finally digs into X-Men 97, The Bear, and Fallout. Kevin also covers Obituary and Dark Matter on Apple TV + Lauren is out this week, but we have Andrew again so you aren't stuck with just Kevin. They dive into the X-Men 97 finale, and the season in general. It's a great season with a ton of memorable moments! Next up, Kevin takes us on a podcasting journey to Dublin, Ireland with Bodkin on Netflix. It's the tale of a podcaster trying to revitalize his once successful career with a true crime mystery revolving around the Samhain holiday many decades before. It has an eclectic cast and the dark comedy nature keeps it exciting. This also leads Kevin to another Irish series, Obituary with the same female lead. It's also a wonderful dark comedy and highly recommended! Andrew takes us into his not-too-wayback machine as he finally got on board with The Bear and Fallout. This week we cover The Idea of You, Elieen, Water for Elephants (the movie AND the musical), Malignant, Bottoms, Shiva Baby, and Good Omens. It's another week with just Lauren and Kevin and it's a packed one. They kick off the episode on a bit of an Anne Hathaway bender with The Idea of You and Elieen. These are two VERY different experiences, but decent on all counts, at the least. Next up, Lauren takes us from film to stage with Water for Elephants, first discussing the excellent original film and then the less excellent broadway musical.  Kevin then turns the page from love story to horror story with the 2021 film, Malignant. It's a body horror flick with some great moments but a not always stellar delivery. Lauren saves the day by going to back to back comedy films starring Rachel Sennott, Bottoms and Shiva Baby. This week, the new(ish) stuff is The Fall Guy, Challengers, Millers Girl, and Unfrosted. Of course we have so much more, including Baby Driver, The Killing of a Sacred Deer, and a little bit of social commentary around Brittney Griner and the WNBA! We kick it off with The Fall Guy, which Lauren watched this week. Kevin is very excited to hear about since he won't get to it in theaters. Lauren enjoyed it but wasn't blown away. Kevin however, is still chomping at the bit. Next up, Kevin takes us back to 2017 with Baby Driver, a film he has tried to catch for years and has somehow always missed! Now that it's on Netflix, he finally jumped in and watched and he thoroughly enjoyed it! We flip it back over to Lauren to discuss another new theatrical release, Challengers. It's a twisted sports/love story that may not be quite as steamy as the trailers would lead you to believe. Lauren wasn't as enamored with it as everyone else seems to be, but her description of Zendaya's character keeps Kevin interested in seeing

Lauren and Kevin cover a lot this week, with Immaculate, Baby Reindeer, and A Gentleman in Moscow being the most relevant. They also throw in some Anyone But You, Women Talking, Chevalier, and What Jennifer Did. The episode opens with the shocking revelation that Kevin may now be an official Sydney Sweeney fan. It makes no sense! But he watched Immaculate and Anyone But You and enjoyed both! Lauren is thoroughly enjoying the new HBO series, A Gentleman in Moscow, starting Ewan McGregor. It seems to be an excellent adaptation of the popular novel. Next up, Kevin talks the dark and twisted take of Baby Reindeer, the new Netflix series. It's billed as a dark comedy but is anything but! It's an absolutely fascinating tale of stalking and how it can impact lives across the board. Lauren talks the surprisingly unsatisfying Women Talking before Kevin talks about the Netflix true crime doc, What Jennifer Did, which he actually did enjoy! This week we have Invincible, X-Men 97, Rebel Moon 2: The Scargiver, Station 11, Talk to Me, Late Night With the Devil, and Mississippi Masala. It's just Andrew and Kevin which usually means a healthy bit of dialogue, but they manage to do a reverse-Snyder and cram a lot of content into a reasonable amount of time! Now that Andrew is caught up, they guys talk full spoilers on Invincible and THAT episode of X-Men 97. This is definitely spoiler territory here, so skip ahead if you aren't caught up on both (and why aren't you?!?!) Fallout and X-Men 97 are the two biggest titles this week, but the gang also covers Ripley, One Love, Invincible, No Hard Feelings, and even Shen Yun! So Andrew and Lauren are back this week. You'd think the episode would be 5 hours long with all the catching up, but luckily Kevin forgot that he watched Argylle so that kept him to a minimum and Andrew and Lauren were incredibly concise! Kevin talks Lisa Frankenstein, Skull and Bones, and The 1976 version of The Omen.  Honestly, there isn't much more to say than that! Andrew and Lauren are out this week so Kevin got lucky when Lisa Frankenstein dropped on Peacock. It's new enough to be relevant AND it was something he was hoping to see. As it so often goes when he doesn't have supervision, Kevin also talks about video games. This time, it's the high seas piracy game Skull and Bones. Is it a rip off of Black Sails? It sure is! But it's ok because Ubisoft owns them both. At least I think that's why it's ok... He then finishes off the show with an incredibly short take on the original The Omen. This week it's just Lauren and Kevin again and they cover Steve (martin), Mike Birbiglia, Deal or No Deal Island, Appropriate, and The Marsh King's Daughter. Kevin kicks it off with a pair of documentaries about comedians, STEVE! (martin) - a documentary in 2 pieces, and Mike Birbiglia: Good One. They are both great and still very different, so a fantastic insight into the mind of some great comedians. Lauren then talks about Deal or No Deal Island, a great mashup of Survivor and Deal or No Deal. She then transitions into the fantastic Broadway show, Appropriate, starring Sarah Paulson.  Kevin takes us down a dark path with The Marsh King's Daughter, before Lauren lightens things back up just a little with the Oscar nominated Past Lives. Its a quick one with 3 Body Problem, Cabrini, Nyad, and Apples Never Fall. It's just Lauren and Kevin this week and they make swift work of their respective topics. Lauren kicks it off with the biopic, Nyad, about Diana Nyad, the 60 year old woman who swam from Cuba to Florida - a distance of well over 100 miles. It's a fascinating documentary about a woman's battle against the odds and the triumph of her spectacular achievement. Kevin uses Annette Benning as the springboard to transition to Apples Never Fall, the Gone Girl-esque family drama on Peacock. It's a show with all the potential in the world, between Benning, Same Neil, and the writers of Big Little Lies, but it fails a bit in the execution. Lauren then takes us in her way back machine to turn of the century New York with Cabrini. It's a tale of a nun who travels from Italy to America, only to discover that her people are being treated worse than anyone could have imagined. Her battle to improve conditions for these people makes for a compelling sto

It's just Damsel, The Holdovers, and a quick brush up on Final Fantasy this week. Why is it such a short episode? Well, both Andrew and Lauren had last second things pop up so Kevin trudged the road alone. A.I. free this time, too! It's brief, but (hopefully) informative. To make this explanation short, Damsel is OK but not great and it won't break you if you watch it. Its a full episode this week, covering the fantastic Dune 2, American Fiction, An Enemy of the People, and Shogun. You may look at the length of the episode and wonder how thats all we covered, but I assure you, we hit Dune HARD before digging into all of the other great content. Yes there are some tangents in there, but they are actually pretty on point! Both Sara and Lauren are back this week. Sara was on our last Dune episode and she is the resident APNC expert on such things, so she brings in the cold hard facts while Andrew brings an unexpected amount of excitement around this. I know the show clearly states that there is "No Culture" on this show, but I guess Lauren classes up the joint. She led the guys to watch American Fiction which leads to a very thoughtful discussion on race in the publishing industry. This week, the guys chat about Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, James Gunn's Superman, Spaceman, (So many Men!), Shogun, Final fantasy VII Rebirth, and Beau is Afraid. It's just Kevin and Andrew and they quickly jump into the tragic end of the DCEU, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. It's just... not good. But it does lead them into a good chat about Superman and where Gunn may take him, so it's not a total loss! Next up, Kevin talks about Adam Sandler's mid-life crisis in space movie, Spaceman. It's a think-piece so if that's your jam, give it a shot. Generally speaking, though, mileage will vary based on the user. Pro tip: watch the trailer and if it doesn't excite you, the rest of the movie probably won't either.
