It's goal: to create an IMDB-type database for every piece of music so that all content creators can be efficiently identified and fairly compensated for the royalties they deserve. If done correctly, the OMI could help level the playing field for indie artists and lead to significant shifts in the music industry. But there are problems with creating such a platform.
