DARPA’s mission is to conceive, develop, and demonstrate breakthrough technologies that create or stop technological surprise for national security. This week in Washington DC, DARPA celebrates it's 60th birthday. DARPA has a long list of sustain and emerging technologies that have resulted in superior transformational changes rather that incremental advances. It's past accomplishments yielding extraordinary results were ballistic missile, stealth, M-16, microchip, satellites, intranet and global positioning system (GPS). Today, DARPA finds itself once again at the center leading future research initiatives. Investments in artificial intelligence, robotic vehicles, cyber, radio frequency spectrum, rockets, automation, supersonic propulsion, smart material, and finally biological and medical breakthroughs will change our society.
