Maria McGrath was born in Ireland and suffered with a debilitating stutter throughout her childhood and early adult life. The stutter crushed every aspect of her life. When Maria moved to London she worked as an accountant because it allowed her to remain in the back office , away from situations that would require her to speak . A few years later she found the McGuire Program that helps adults gain control over their stutter. Maria took the course offered by The McGuire Program and was able to conquer her stutter after lots of hard work . She became fluent and began enjoying speaking. Maria eventually moved to the US and decided that she enjoyed speaking so much that she would launch the McGuire Program in the US so that she could help others become fluent and overcome the crippling effects of stuttering.
