Geneticist Fredric Abramson is my guest this week. Gregor Mendel is considered the progenitor of the field, but it wasn't until the 70s, when technology allowed scientists to  view DNA that it turned into genetics as we know it today. These days, the emphasis seems to be on disease. Who has the cancer gene? Who's susceptible to what? Fredric is one of the few - if not the only - geneticists to be using this knowledge to help each of us find optimum health. How to do that is different for everybody. So, through his company Digital Nutrition, Fredric is developing an app to help you shop. Right now, just for supplements, but eventually, for all foods, whether you can scan them or not. And the first app is on schedule to be beta-testing shortly after the first of the year!
